One more

You don't have to be able to run 100 km. Every starter can already run the course. The race is whether you come back to the corral when the whistle goes. Again. At three in the morning.

Nobody passes you in a backyard ultra, and nobody pulls you off the course. Twenty-four people decide, one at a time, that this hour was the last one. The sheet writes down when.

The hours

Sat 09:0017:00 darkSun 08:00
1–4
A group run with strangers. Everyone talks. Someone goes out too fast.
5–8
The legs file their first complaint. Eating becomes a job.
9–12
Dark from 17:00. The first people go home and mean it. Headlamps on.
13–16
The race. The field is small and nobody is chatting.
17–20
One to five in the morning. Cold, quiet, and where it gets decided.
21+
Sunrise during yard 24, which ends at 100 miles: the goal nobody admits to before the start. After that, nobody knows. We stay until it ends.

If you can run 6.7 km in an hour, you can start. Whether you can start twenty times is the question.

The loop

6.706 km from the corral and back: two laps of a 3.4 km circuit on the footpaths of the Schollebos.

The exact course goes to the club as a GPX file two weeks before, and temporary markers go up at the turns on the day. We run it together once, so nobody sees it for the first time at 3am.

200 m
One lap of the Schollebos circuit, to scale. Two make a yard; the dot is the corral.

Seven rules

  1. Be in the corral at the whistle.Late by a second is a stop. The clock does not care.
  2. Run the full yard in under an hour.Over the hour counts as a stop.
  3. No aid on the course.Eat, drink and change at the corral between yards. One communal table, bring what you need.
  4. Know the course. It is a GPX file, with temporary markers at the turns. Losing the way still costs you the yard.
  5. From dusk: headlamp, vest, phone.Bring a spare battery.
  6. When you stop, you crew.Every runner who stops owes one hour on the clock before going home.
  7. You run at your own risk. You sign that before your first yard. We carry a first-aid kit and a phone. There is no medical team.

The pot

€375

25 runners, €15 each, paid on the morning in cash or by Tikkie. Handed over at the corral when it ends.

Last one standing
Completes a yard alone and takes the whole pot.
Last two agree
If the final two decide together to stop, they split it. Nobody has to run into a hospital to prove a point.
We stop it
Weather or a medical situation ends the race. Whoever is still in splits the pot.
Nobody finishes alone
If the last runners all fail the same yard, nobody wins. Whoever started that yard splits the pot.

We can't tell you if you have it. Neither can you, yet.

Twenty-five spots, by invitation. There is no sign-up form. Message us on WhatsApp or join the Strava club, tell us one race you have finished, and we will tell you if there is room.

Race bib number 1: black, with the red runner and the name All But One Ultra at the top, the number in a white window, and a thin grey line tracing the race loop.
Your bib: 26 by 21 cm, waterproof and tear-proof. Yours to keep, whatever yard you stop at.
